nelson-mobilier-2021-v7-lrSince 2016, Dehaut Design is an exclusive importer to Canada of salon and spa furniture from Nelson Mobilier, a french designer salon and spa furniture designer firm of high quality beauty salon furniture. Here’s a short history of the company:

1984: Nelson Mobilier is founded in Chassieu, on the outskirts of Lyon, France.

1986: The first salon furniture collection is presented at Cosmoprof in Bologna and at the Mondial Coiffure show in Paris.

1989: The company sets up a strong distribution network in France and develops several agreements with local franchises. Within a few years, Nelson Mobilier becomes the market leader in France.

1991: The design office is created and starts producing 2D drawings to support its consultancy in salon design.

1995: The reputation of Nelson Mobilier crosses the French borders and the company increases its presence in Southern Europe with distributors in Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece. With partnerships in Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, UK and Scandinavia, the products are now also available in Northern Europe. The French brand has established itself as one of the leading manufacturers in Europe.

1999: Nelson Mobilier starts new partnerships in Eastern Europe, Nord Africa and South America. The design side of the business is expanding and now offers 3D Visuals.

2004: Experienced architects and designers partner with Nelson to completely rethink salon furniture and launch a modern design. The company is entering a new phase of expansion and affirms its reputation amongst hairdressers.

2005: The French showroom is expanded, 500m² are now available for hairdressers and distributors from all over Europe.

2006: Opening of the second showroom in Castiglione delle Stiviere, close to Lake Garda, Italy.

2009: Nelson Mobilier celebrates 25 years of activity and opens a sales office in Cologne, Germany.

2011: Nelson signs an exclusive partnership for salon furniture with P&G Professional (WELLA / SP / LONDA) for France, Belgium and Luxembourg.

2012: The French showroom expands to 700 m². Nelson now exports its salon furniture to more than 40 countries. With new collections, new catalogues and brochures, and an updated showroom, the French brand continues to apply its winning formula and keeps growing.

2016: The introduction of beauty and spa furniture models with the same concern for quality as for their hairdressing furniture allows Nelson Mobilier to support full-service hairdressing salons and specialised beauty centres.

2017: The Tortue styling chair is one of the winners of the Innovation Awards organized by MCB Beauté.
